About This Column
Dear HSC Colleagues:
It’s no secret that an organization’s success depends in large part on effective communication. That’s easy when the organization consists of two people working within earshot of each other. Good communication is much harder when you are part of an academic health center with thousands of employees in multiple locations. But it’s even more important.
This periodic column is one way of enhancing communication at the Health Science Center. It is meant to complement all the other forms of communication that we use to get our work done efficiently and effectively. In particular, it’s my take on broader topics and issues whose implications are more strategic in nature. If the column is successful, it will give you insight into the course we are charting for this enterprise, in the hope that we can all paddle in roughly the same direction.
If you have thoughts about specific topics you’d like to hear more about, use the “Suggest a Topic” feature on the Web site. Or just stop me in the hallway. No form of communication will ever top that.
