 News

The University of Florida Health Science Center (UF HSC) committed to becoming an IAIMS institution in August 1997. UF HSC was awarded an IAIMS Planning Grant in April 1999. An IAIMS Implementation Grant was submitted in June 2001. The initial NLM grant review process resulted in a Site Visit in January 2002. The UF IAIMS Implementation Grant then received a strong priority score and a recommendation to revise and resubmit. At that time the decision was made to incorporate UF IAIMS functions and support into the ongoing operations of UF HSC. Information regarding UF IAIMS activities, organizational structures, plans, projects and grants is available on this website.

UF IAIMS efforts resulted in strong alliances that continue to pursue a vision “To design and implement seamless, integrated information systems that maximize timeliness and effectiveness of information access and exchange for the University of Florida community and its partners, in support of clinical care, education, research, and public service.” Many UF IAIMS accomplishments have served as building blocks for vital IT initiatives at both UF HSC and the entire University of Florida. UF HSC continues to participate as an institutional member of the IAIMS Consortium.

In the IAIMS spirit, we remain committed to helping other institutions that are interested in pursuing the goals of IAIMS. This UF IAIMS website was created in 1998, maintained until 2003 and remains available to those who may benefit from our experiences.
