Object Broker/IDXTerm Installation (from CD) on Windows NT

1. Install 32bit Object Broker Client:

  • In D:\Software\HBOC Software\Disk1 run SETUP.exe
  • Choose Next
  • Next
  • Scroll Down in the Components window and choose Object Broker. Click Next
  • Next
  • Next
  • Finish

2. Install 16bit Object Broker Client:

  • In D:\Software\Microsoft Software\SQL Server 65\Clients\Win16, run SETUP.exe
  • Choose Continue
  • Continue
  • In the Microsoft SQL Server Client Tools Window:
  • Under Installation Options: Uncheck ISQL/w and SQL Server Books Online
  • Under Default Network: Use the scroll button to drop down and select TCP/IP Sockets
  • Choose Install
  • OK
  • On the root level of the CD run Copydll.bat

3. Install IDXTerm

  • In D:\IDXTerm run Setup.exe
  • Choose Next
  • Next
  • Next
  • Finish
  • Go to C:\Program Files\IDXTerm. Double click on IDXTerm.exe
  • On the menu bar, go to Connect - Host, highlight Winsock and hit Select
  • Type in uffgp1.fgp.ufl.edu
  • Choose select
  • IDXTerm should connect to University of Florida Faculty Group Practice OpenVMS Alpha System and prompt you for a user name
  • Find IDXTerm.exe again and create a shortcut
  • Right-click on IDXTerm.exe
  • Select Create Shortcut
  • Right-click on the shortcut and select Properties
  • Click on the Shortcut tab
  • In the target field, at the end of the shortcut path ("C:\Program Files\IDXTerm.exe"), type in [space]/winsock=uffgp1.fgp.ufl.edu
  • Hit Apply and OK
  • Move shortcut to C:\Winnt\Profiles\All Users\Desktop
  • Double click on shortcut to test it
