myUFL reports created and managed by ITCIM
ITCIM's Reports page includes a list of published report names, short descriptions and links to other resources which may be of interest. myUFL's UF_ER_USER and UF_ER_SPECIAL_NEWSB_HCSC security roles are required to gain access to products published in the Health Science Center's Special Newsboxes. Contact your unit's Departmental Security Administrator to request security roles.
Operational Guideline for Posting Query Objects in CoM's Special Newsbox folders
With permission of their unit's administration, authorized Query Studio users may have their query objects saved in a public location so that people who have access to the HSC's Special Newsboxes in Enterprise Reporting can use them.
The IT Center's Information Management team (ITCIM-L@lists.ufl.edu) will respond to all requests but each operational area of the HSC has a designated representative who is technically able to assist (see: HSC Special Newsbox administrators)
- Save the query object in: Public Folders > Special Newsboxes > Query Studio Users > Temporary Query Objects
- Send a message to the appropriate representative asking someone to:
- Please move:
- XYZ-Name-Of-Query
- From:
- Public Folders > Special Newsboxes > Query Studio Users > Temporary Query Objects
- To:
- (as an example...) Public Folders > Special Newsboxes > Health Science Center > 29000000 - College of Medicine > 29140000 - COM, Dept of Surgery.
- The object or objects will be moved and the action confirmed by replying to the request e-mail message.
Text similar to the following will be added to whatever descriptive information is already associated with the object being moved.
- Last date actually modified: Month Day, Year. Contact for this product is Person's full name (e-mail address).
If someone else is to be cited as the primary contact for the query, please include that information in the e-mailed move request and they will be appropriately identified.
UF_ER_SPECIAL_NEWSB_HCSC security role
On June 28, 2007, capabilities of the UF_ER_SPECIAL_NEWSB_HCSC and UF_ER_SPECIAL_NEWSBOX security roles were changed to better protect the integrity of reports published in the HSC's Special Newsboxes.
The UF_ER_SPECIAL_NEWSBOX role is no longer associated with the Health Science Center's Special Newsbox folders and generally should not be requested or retained by HSC personnel.
Everyone who has the UF_ER_USER and UF_ER_SPECIAL_NEWSB_HCSC security roles should be able to access Enterprise Reporting objects located in HSC Special Newsboxes. Individuals are able to view and save results to their computers and may save report views in their own "My Folders" area.
As a reminder, the ability to actually use specific reports is completely dependent on other security roles. As an example, a report designed to use security role information may only be used by people who have been granted Departmental Security Admnistrator security roles.
Query Studio users working on behalf of their college or department may save work in Query Studio Users' Special Newsbox folders (Public Folders > Special Newsboxes > Query Studio Users). In response to requests sent to the appropriate representative (see: HSC Special Newsbox administrators), saved query products may be copied to a specific HSC Special Newsbox folder. These objects may be deleted in response to similar requests whenever such action becomes necessary.
Questions about the UF_ER_SPECIAL_NEWSB_HCSC role or the June 2007 changes may be directed to ITCIM-L@LISTS.UFL.EDU.
