Systems Navigation without using TPX

On Sunday, June 7, 2009, CNS retired TPX. TPX is a software application that had been used to navigate to UF's different mainframe-based applications for years. Current means for reaching CoM's HRIS system and Admin Menu resources are described on the following pages:

Using a TN3270 Client to Access ADMIN CICS and CoM's HRIS System

Using a TN3270 Client to Access ADMIN CICS and the UF Menu System

Summarized instructions:

  1. Type admin at the opening screen
  2. Press [Enter]
  3. Type your CNS ID and CNS password in the USERID and PASSWORD fields
  4. In the START Transid field, type mca1 OR menu to go to HRIS or the Admin Menu, respectively.
  5. Press [Enter]

Changing your RACF ID password

When changing RACF passwords, everything must be done on one single screen - old password plus both iterations of the new password value, then <enter>! Or it won't work.

On the CICS sign-on screen ...

  1. Type your RACF ID (formerly known as a NERDC ID) in the USERID: field
  2. [Tab] to the PASSWORD: field and type your current password
  3. [Tab] down one level to the first New Password: field and type in the new password
  4. [Tab] another level to the second New Password: field and type in the new password again
  5. Press the [Enter] key.

Note: If any value typed into these fields uses the maximum allowable eight (8) characters, the cursor will automatically jump to the next field. Pressing the TAB key won't be necessary if this happens.
