Information Management Attendance PracticesWhile adhering to guidelines established by the IT Center and University, the Information Management team employs the following attendance practices to support the team's mission and objectives. Collaborative planning for predictable absences such as a vacation or a routine medical appointments, helps ensure staffing levels will not be unduly compromised. Coordination with, and approval by a supervisor is required. Upon approval, the Team Leader will document expected absences by making an entry on a calendar to denote expected date and times of the absence. While every effort will be made to accommodate requests for discretionary time off, final approval must always be contingent upon the organization's needs. IT Center Attendance PolicyEmployees at the university and specifically at the IT Center, work a variety of schedules. For full-time employees, the university's normal work schedule is a five-day, 40-hour week and most of the university's employees work this schedule with minor variations. Overtime worked by non-exempt employees is limited to emergency, pre-planned and approved situations. Supervisors assign work schedules and keep employees informed of changes should any be required. Employees must obtain their supervisor's approval in advance for a variation to scheduled work times, such as extended hours, annual leave, personal holiday, administrative leave, etc. The IT Center operates from 7:30 AM till 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday on scheduled workdays. Employee's attendance has a direct effect on the IT Center's ability to deliver services and required customer support. Each team's Assistant Director will assign work schedules to assure adequate coverage for the IT Center's operating hours and to assure integrity and availability of offered services. This typically requires work to be performed outside normal operating hours for system upgrades, preventive maintenance, repairs, and so on. Each team's Assistant Director is responsible for making sure University rules regarding myUFL time entries by non-exempt and exempt employees are observed. The HSC Assistant Vice President for Information Services (CIO) and all of the IT Center's remaining Assistant Directors are authorized to fulfill these responsibilities in the absence of any team's Assistant Director. UF Attendance Policies:UF's Human Resource Services describes attendance policies in a number of documents presented at http://www.hr.ufl.edu/leave/default.asp. IT Center practices and policies reflect organizational requirements established in accordance with University of Florida policy. Please discuss any questions concerning these policies or practices with your Team Leader or the HSC Assistant Vice President for Information Services (CIO).
