College of Medicine On-Line Security RequestsMay 28, 2004 -- Effective this date, the security request processing system described on these pages was retired and is being replaced by the myUFL System Access Request System (see UF Bridges for evolving documentation). Responsibilities and activities associated with processing role assignments, security requests and workflow definition will be distributed to unit Administrators who will manage these resources on behalf of College of Medicine faculty and staff affiliated with their particular units. August 3, 2001 -- A description of responsibilities and activities associated with processing security requests for College of Medicine faculty and staff. April 20, 2001 -- Each unit in the college may designate two additional individuals to submit security requests. The new COM Security Request link, leads to an application responsible for verifying a requestor's identity using GatorLink ID's and passwords and confirming that they are allowed to use the request form. Authentication and authorization checks must be successful before the web request form can be used. These changes will support internal departmental decisions about work assignments without compromising confidence that access to controlled resources is being proactively managed. Chairs/Directors, the senior departmental administrator and up to two designated alternates, are the only people authorized to initiate security requests. July 25, 2000 -- Authority Code changes associated with employees changing jobs or leaving University employment are now being used to trigger the certification process. It is important to initiate security changes as soon as possible whenever an employee leaves your unit. If they are going to another College of Medicine position, it may be sufficient to simply delete particular applications or account numbers. However if they are not staying within the College, it is more appropriate to terminate all access -- including NERDC. Program Resources: Units who have been, or are being, certified by Information Services. Please notify the IT Center's Security Request Processing team of required content changes.
