C.A.R.E. Program

Outreach & Resource Team

The Outreach & Resource Team's mission is to educate the UF campus about issues of dating, relationships, date/acquaintance rape, and other forms of sexual exploitation. The Outreach & Resource Team participates in and helps organize events, including presentations and tablings around campus, as well as Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM). SAAM is held at UF every January and includes events like “Take Back the Night Safety Run/Walk” and hosting other speakers who come to speak on relevant topics during the month. The Clothesline Project is also often included in SAAM.

C.A.R.E. welcomes and recruits volunteers at the beginning of each fall semester. If you are interested in getting involved with C.A.R.E. as either a Graduate Peer Educator & Trainer (must be a UF graduate student) or an Undergraduate Volunteer (must be a UF student), please contact the C.A.R.E. Outreach & Resource office at 392-1161 ext. 4362 or email us at care@shcc.ufl.edu. We are located on the 3rd floor of the Student Health Care Center, in room 320.

Presentations

To request a presentation for your organization or group, please call the C.A.R.E. Peer Education office at 392-1161, ext. 4362. You can also email C.A.R.E. with your request, or make a request online.

We offer a variety of presentations on issues related to sexual assault/abuse, date rape drugs, media and culture, and healthy sexual relationships. We can also tailor a presentation to the specific needs of your group.

The C.A.R.E. Peer Education Office also has free information available (handouts, brochures, etc.) for students/faculty doing presentations in their own classes. In addition, we have videos on a variety of topics available for checkout.
