We are excited to announce that we are starting phase one of the project to improve our Communicore classrooms. Beginning the first week of May, 2010 work begins to make important improvements in the infrastructure in some of the larger classrooms (C1-3, 4, 7, 9, 11 and 15): More energy efficient air-handling equipment will replace aging devices, and a new ceiling allowing 'greener' lights with new dimmers are to be installed.

We have been able to schedule these much needed renovations without significant impact on supporting the educational mission during the summer term. The classroom support staff has worked hard to find a variety of alternative locations for your summer term scheduled classes and events while matching class size, facilities and needs. The staff will continue to work with you during the renovation period to assist with accommodating any issues we may encounter during this time. Completion of this phase is scheduled by the beginning of the fall schedule.

The Health Science Center Teaching Laboratory Resources is an educational support organization responsive to the needs of the teaching faculty. Teaching Laboratory Resources provides classroom and audio-visual support, logistical lab support and technology support. Teaching Labs is spearheading the use and development of interactive video and distance learning in the Health Science Center.
